‘White Dramatic Winning Shot’ NBA Boston beats Mavericks for third straight win after three straight losses
The National Basketball Association (NBA) Boston Celtics won their third straight game after a three-game losing streak, defeating the Miami Heat on Derrick White’s dramatic game-winning shot as time expired.
Boston defeated the Heat 104-103 in 메이저사이트 Game 6 of the 2022-23 NBA Eastern Conference Finals at the Amway Center in Miami, Florida, on Monday (Feb. 28).
After dropping the first three games of the series, Boston reeled off three straight wins to send the series to a decisive Game 7.
Never before in the history of the NBA playoffs (best-of-seven) has a team with a three-game losing streak completed a reverse sweep. If Boston wins Game 7, they will become the first team to do so.
Jayson Tatum led the Boston offense with 31 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, while Jaylen Brown added a 26-point, 10-rebound double-double. White, the hero of the dramatic game-winning shot, chipped in with 11 points, four rebounds, and six assists.
Miami was led by Jimmy Butler’s 24 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists and Caleb Martin’s 21 points and 15 rebounds, but was brought to its knees by a costly turnover down the stretch.
Boston took a 57-53 lead at halftime behind the combined efforts of Tatum and Brown. In the third quarter, they extended their lead to 79-72.
But in the fourth quarter, Miami began to pull away. Led by Bam Adebayo, the Heat went on an onslaught, cutting the deficit to 82-83 just 2:03 into the fourth quarter.
A rejuvenated Boston rallied to pull within 10 points, 98-88, with 4:56 left in the game, but Miami rallied behind Butler’s big three-point play to take a 103-102 lead with three seconds left in regulation.
With the game on the line, Boston called timeout to regroup. After the restart, Marcus Smart’s three-pointer rimmed out, but White tipped in the rebound to seal the thrilling victory. Boston beamed and Miami shook their heads as the game was decided after video review.
The fateful Game 7 will be played at Boston’s home TD Garden on March 30.
