‘Jangchunggo left and right aces’ Hwang Jun-seo, Yuk Seon-yeop, ‘Lee Do-ryu’ Cho Dae-hyun and Jeon Mir joined the U-18 national team

Jangchung High School’s top left-hander Hwang Jun-seo, Gangneung High School’s Cho Dae-hyeon, and Gyeongbuk High’s Jeon Mir, both pitching doubles, joined the World Youth Baseball Team.

The Korea Baseball Softball Association (KBSA) today announced the roster of the national team to compete in the 31st World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 Baseball World Cup (World Youth Baseball Championship) to be held in Taichung, Taipei from September 1 to 10. It was announced on the 18th.

On the pitcher side, it is notable that both left and right aces of Jangchung High School, Hwang Jun-seo and Yuk Seon-yeop, were listed.

Hwang Jun-seo, who is rated as the best left-hander in high school, is likely to be nominated at the top of the 2024 KBO draft along with Jang Hyun-seok of Masan Yongma High School. If Jang Hyun-seok chooses to advance to the United States, it seems that Hwang Jun-seo will be nominated as the first overall. Jang Hyun-seok, who was the only high school player selected for the Hangzhou Asian Games national team, was omitted from this youth national team.

Yuk Seon-yeop is the right-hander ace of Jangchung High School and is recording 21.1 innings this season, 2 wins and no losses, and an average ERA of 0.43.

Incheon High School Kim Taek-yeon, who is called ‘Little Oh Seung-hwan’, also contributes to the pitching staff.

Jo Dae-hyeon and Jeon Mi-re, both two-handed pitching players, were also included, and Lee Seung-min of Whimoon High School, the son of Samsung Lions head coach Lee Byeong-gyu, and Gyeonggi High School Sang-jun Lee, who won the World Power Showcase, were also selected for the final entry.

A total of 12 countries will participate in this World Youth Baseball Championship. South Korea will play in Group A with Chinese Taipei, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Australia and the Czech Republic in the qualifying round.먹튀검증
